What is Stacklet and how does it function? Stacklet is a commercial platform for cloud governance designed to assist Global 2000 companies in managing their cloud security, operations, visibility, and cost optimization policies. It is based on the open source project Cloud Custodian and follows an open core model. The creators of Cloud Custodian are also the founders of Stacklet. Stacklet offers operational guidance for Cloud Custodian, access to pre-built policies, and plans for a fully hosted version of Cloud Custodian in the future. Additionally, Stacklet aims to “shift-left” the open source core by allowing developers to assess both application and infrastructure code against their organization’s governance standards early on in the development process, thereby implementing preventive control measures.
