What is PubPub and how does it function? PubPub allows knowledge communities to create and manage their own models for community interaction and publishing workflows. It is an open-source and community-led platform that supports end-to-end publishing for knowledge communities. Some unique features of PubPub include real-time collaboration and editing with co-authors, the ability to import work from any location, the incorporation of rich multimedia into documents, and the creation of CrossRef DOIs with a single click. PubPub also allows for the direct management of submissions and peer review, as well as hosting public and private discussions with readers and community members, regardless of location. Users can create their own websites without coding knowledge, include metadata for better content structure and discovery, and control access to their content. Additionally, PubPub provides privacy-friendly statistics to gain insights about community visitors and allows for the addition of relationship reviews, commentary, supplements, and other content that can be submitted to Crossref.
